My current read is Fortuna Sworn by K.J. Sutton! Fortuna is the last of her kind, and her brother disappeared two years ago, leaving her with no family to speak of. She hides among humans, searching for him until she catches the eye of a powerful faerie. He makes no attempt to hide the fact that he wants her. In exchange for her, he offers her something irresistible. So she leaves her life, but it soon becomes clear that she may have bargained with her very life.
This is the new map in A Court of Silver Flames, and I am in love! I love a good map, especially when I love the world so much. This one is gorgeous and so detailed. Anytime I see a map in a book it makes me that much more intrigued and really let's me sink into fantasy worlds.
This is one of my most anticipated reads of 2021. This is the fourth book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. It follows one of the Archeron sisters, Nesta. I know a lot of people hate Nesta because she is prickly, but I actually like her a lot. I think she is very strong and broken from the events of the last 3 books and I can't wait to see where this story goes and how Sarah develops her character.
A story where the multi-verse exists, you can only visit the worlds of the multi-verse in which your alternate has died. Cara's alternates have died on 372 worlds in total. She is an outlier and is used to visit the worlds for different kinds of work for the Eldridge Institute. When one of her last 8 doppelgängers dies in mysterious circumstances, she finds secrets that connect her past, future, and present in ways she could have never imagined. I love this idea so much and can't wait to read this. This is going to be my next read and already can't wait to pick it up. Have you read this one? What did you think?
Re-reading one of my favorite books of last year because I needed something to give me the warm and fuzzy feelings. This is making me cry more than the warm and fuzzies, but alas. The relationships, both friendships and romantic are wonderful and some of my favorite. I can't wait for the second book in the series to come out. (Photo is from last year, since it's too dark to take new pics rn lol)
This has to be one of my new favorites. We Set the Dark On Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia. This is a book set in the world of Medio, where every high society man has two wives, a Primera and a Segunda. The Primera takes care of his household, while the Segunda takes care of his children. Our main character Daniela Vargas is a top student at the Medio School for Girls. The thing is, she is not all that she seems. She and her pedigree are a lie. When the resistance discovers this and asks her to become one of its spies, Dani must give up everything in the pursuit of a free Medio. According to Goodreads, this is also queer, and if the romance is with whom I think it is, I'm SO excited for it. I'm about halfway through this one and loving it. I have already ordered the second book so I can start it the second it gets here.
